We are delighted to announce that St Augustine’s Giving Day will take place from Wednesday, 25th February to Friday, 27th February 2026. Over these special days, our whole school community will come together in celebration and generosity to support an exciting and lasting improvement for our children.
This year, we are raising money to introduce the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Programme into our school. OPAL is a mentor-supported school improvement programme that works alongside schools to transform playtimes, ensuring they are active, creative, inclusive and socially enriching. Play is not simply a break from learning; it is a fundamental part of it. By investing in OPAL, we will ensure that this time is used to develop resilience, teamwork, imagination and confidence, all of which positively impact learning in the classroom.
All funds raised through Giving Day will go directly to our Helping Hands Fund, helping us to enhance the educational experience of our pupils and fulfil the school’s vision for the future.
Giving Day is about more than fundraising; it is about community. It is about working together for the benefit of our children and investing in something that will positively impact every pupil from Reception through to Year 6.
Full details of class activities and how you can take part can be found below. We warmly encourage everyone to get involved, whether by attending events, sponsoring your child, or making a donation.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. It promises to be a heart-warming and inspiring few days that will show St Augustine’s at its very best.
On Thursday, 26 February, we warmly invite parents and carers to visit the school to view and purchase the beautiful artwork created by our youngest pupils. Every child has worked incredibly hard to produce something truly special. Further details will follow after half term and in the lead up to Giving Day.
On Friday, 27 February, families are invited to a special concert where the children will showcase what they have been learning in their music lessons. It promises to be a joyful celebration of their progress and talents.
Year 3 pupils will each create a stunning piece of watercolour artwork in class. Their finished pieces will be displayed in the school hall from 3pm on Wednesday, 25 February and will be available to purchase.
Year 4 will be putting their energy and determination to the test with a fitness circuit challenge. How many laps can your child complete? With a range of skills on show, it’s sure to be an exciting event. Perhaps a little half-term practice might help!
Year 5 will take on the ultimate football challenge: how many goals can they score as a class in one hour? The goalkeeper is yet to be announced, watch this space!
Building on their work with Queen’s Club over the past few years, Year 6 will test their tennis skills in a timed rally challenge. Can they keep the rally going?
